This Privacy Policy describes how ChordProEditor (the "App"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you download and use the App from the Mac App Store. By installing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Data

None Collected by the App Itself. The App does not require you to register, log in, or provide any personally identifying information to use its core features.

1.2 Usage Data

Crash Reports & Diagnostics. With your permission, the App may automatically collect crash logs and diagnostic information (e.g., operating system version, App version, error logs) to help us improve stability and performance.

1.3 Device Information

Technical Details. The App may record non-personal technical details about your Mac (e.g., hardware model, OS version, available memory) solely for troubleshooting and analytics.

1.4 App Versions

ChordProEditor is available in two versions:

  • Consumer Edition. Available via subscription ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) through the Mac App Store.
  • Business Edition. Available as a one-time purchase through Apple Business Manager for organizations.

Both versions provide the same functionality. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Improve the App. We use crash reports and diagnostics to identify and fix bugs, optimize performance, and plan new features.
  • Analytics. Aggregate usage statistics (e.g., which menu items are used most) help us understand user behavior and enhance the user experience.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

  • Service Providers. We may share crash data or analytics with third-party analytics or crash-reporting services (e.g., Apple's App Analytics, Fabric/Crashlytics) under strict confidentiality and only to the extent necessary to provide those services.
  • Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, usage data and diagnostic information may be transferred to the acquiring entity, provided they agree to uphold these privacy commitments.

4. Data Retention

  • Crash & Diagnostic Data. Retained only as long as needed to diagnose and address issues, typically no longer than 12 months.
  • Aggregate Analytics. Stored in anonymized form and retained only for as long as it continues to provide value for improving the App.

5. Your Choices & Rights

  • Opt-Out of Diagnostics. You can disable crash and usage reporting by unchecking the "Automatically send diagnostic and usage data to developers" option in your Mac's System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
  • Access & Deletion. Since we do not collect personal data, we have no user-specific profile data to provide or delete.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

7. International Users

The App is made available globally via the Mac App Store. If you use the App outside the United States, please note that information (including crash reports and diagnostics) may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where our servers and service providers are located. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any changes.
